Each Week Adam Will Take You Through a Money Saving Top Tip. This Week Its All About Never Downgrading EVER Again!
This week’s money top tip is all about downgrading and that’s something I never want you to do ever, ever again. So a downgrade is a very clever marketing tool used by people in marketing. Usually used when a contract is due, in order for them to get you to ‘upgrade’ or basically – to pay as much as you can – to them. So the upgrade that you get usually the reason is when your mobile phone is due, for example, they’ll say you’re due an upgrade for your mobile contract. So you get the brand new phone with a brand new contract with unlimited calls and unlimited text and unlimited data and it’ll cost you only 80 pounds a month. When in reality, all you need to do is phone the provider and ask them what your average use actually is.
Check Your Tariff –
It’s probably a lot lower than you think. So if the average usage for yourself is 200 minutes, it’s 200 texts and let’s say two Gig of data, then you don’t need a tariff really any more than that and by simply restricting the use for the tariff that you’re on, that could save you loads of money in its own right. It’s not just mobile phones. This extends for a gym memberships and anything else that involves some sort of contract, what I want you to do is
not think as downgrading as a downgrade ever again.
Think of it as making it more appropriate for your life.
If it’s appropriate for your life, then the 200 minutes wouldn’t actually matter because in reality, you’re not using more than that anyway, and subsequently at 20 pounds a month, let’s say would be back in your pocket, 240 quid back a year, what could you do with 240 pounds? I’ll leave that to you, but don’t ever think as downgrading as a bad thing. Just think of it is, I need to make this more appropriate for my life and if it is appropriate, then that could save you a ton of cash.
