Jo Came to me early 2018 after seeing that I was offering free help to help kick start 2018 for 5 lucky people. I met up with her at a local coffee shop to talk over where she was, what she wanted to achieve and then got to know all about her, understand why she was in the financial position that she was in and then ultimately get to work!

I met with Jo at The Blue Onion for a coffee chat. The interview was as professional as ever, I was in my jeans and wooly jumper thingy and like all my clients, wanted to make her feel at ease, at home and comfortable.

We started off just by getting to know each other, I like to understand the person, explore who they really are to try and better engage with them and also help myself understand what I need to do to help them. Luckily Jo was really open and explained to me all about her life, what was happening and was very honest about her behaviors. This is key – if you are not honest with yourself, then it’s very difficult to improve or more forward.

We went through my little spreadsheet that I have and recorded all of her expenditure and then explored what things can be influenced and changed and what cannot.

Without going into too much detail, Jo has changed several behaviours and purposely challenged herself to get things done!  This is what she’s changed:

  • Reviewed Pet insurance and saves £15 per month
  • Bought new economical car savings £35 per month in fuel
  • questioned council tax band – saves £7 per month
  • Food shopping has been reviewed and saves £20 per month

TOTAL SAVING: £77 per month= £924 per year saved!!!

Well done Jo. I show the door, like anyone in life, its down to them to ultimately do the leg work, so I can’t take any credit. What a wonderful job she’s done!
