Accounting and Bookkeeping is a must for any business owner. It’s the thing which tells you if your business is actually working (Or not). Its the thing that warns you of potential theft or fraud from either an internal or external source, it might be the trigger which allows you to re-think if the stock you hold is right for the business, if the systems that you use is the most efficient, it’s a reflection of your businesses success in monetary terms. The question here is – do you do your own books and accounts and do you know enough to be making the most of the rules and regulations of the land?

Too often I hear of how people do their own books ‘To Save Money’

The problem is – when did you last review the budget?
When did you last do any credible research into what you can or cannot do?
There’s a reason why some people dedicate their whole life to this craft and why you have to qualified to practice, professionally, accountancy on behalf of other people.

What happens if you didn’t see ”X” in the ecent budget and now you are screwing yourself out of hundreds of £££’s?

Is the average tradesman actually SAVING money by doing it themselves?

Let’s say the average plumber gets paid £35 an hour and they spend 1 hour per week doing the books and sorting out the accounts – that equals £1820 per annum of lost income (Money they could have earned, but haven’t because they’re doing their accounts).

The average accountant may be £75 a month = £900 per annum.

So by doing the books yourself – it’s actually COST you £920 MORE a year

Not only that, but the firm sorting your taxes etc out should be up to date with rules and regulations!

Below are two very reputable firms that offer face to face and non face to face services. Check them out!
